Installation of a modern road system in the "Death Curve" near La Calera

KM 3.2 of Route 60 is known for frequent, often serious traffic accidents and is not without reason called "The Death Curve". Every time an accident occurs there, traffic jams back up to the city centre. This problem is now to be solved by installing the central reserve crossing Gate-Guard.

40 m of steel construction replace the previous concrete walls. The Gate-Guard system not only increases the safety of road users by being able to stop a 13-tonne vehicle from breaking through to the opposite lane, but can also be released within 10 minutes by opening the two wings on either side in order to divert traffic.
